I'm very honoured to be a finalist in this meaningful initiative by Whitewall Projects Gallery in Berrima (NSW) called "Into the Light Art Prize", promoting Mental Health Awareness.
The theme looks to showcase artwork that offers a sense of hope and light; a visual and emotional antidote to falling into darkness through the transformative power of art. 10% of sales are donated to ‘Cool Kids’ (A program supporting mental health for children and teens) delivered by the Stress and Trauma Clinic.
My sculpture "Dawning" (31h x 60w x 30d cm) humbly encapsulates the transformative moment when we recognise our capacity to endure amid adversity. The artwork, shaped as a human figure, embodies both vulnerability and strength, symbolizing the fleeting instant when we realise that we will rise again. A visual reminder of the resilience inherent within us.
Exhibition opening on Saturday September 30, 2023 from 4-6 pm.
